"Music is the first open source programming language".
Music is sound above all it's definitions, surrounding us. It is the culture bigger than any of us. Music do exists with us, feed from us and feed us back. Because of this, it belongs to humanity and that's why musicians come together to share their vibrations. Because of this audience sing the song in the concerts together. Because music belongs to everyone and create it's own character when we become a part of it.
Can you sell a superior culture which needs this much communion to exist into the jars? Could anyone say that "that vibrations in the air belong to me, you can not wrap it to yourself"? Could there be a concept which is not fit on it's own definition? There can not be, at least, it can not be called music.
Music is the first victim of the capitalism's creation (and toy) populism which we born into. The worst thing populism do to music is, after the massacre, it tries to sell what's left as music. Because our poor ears can not understand the good music anymore, we don't see the real richness of the music. It is not easy to feed someone with fresh vegetables who is a ptomaine eater.
But why does the capitalism do that, why it does not try to sell qualified ones? Because mass production loves the easy, crappy ones, cause it is easier to produce them. Qualified work needs effort, effort means your hands sweat merges with the stuff you do, so your production would have a piece of you. If it doesn't include any piece of anyone, if it's a mass production, than it is not music.
Despite all the negative aspects of capitalism, there are some acquisitions of capitalism. The most important of all for the humankind is internet. Living in a time of sharing information in an impossible speed gives us huge opportunities. It becomes harder to fool people after the information spreads to the base. Everybody knows that London Bridge belongs to the government. The sellers of bad products would be in the position of the man who try to sell London Bridge to the policeman. As we know, as it becomes easier to reach to the information, the number of corners will increase. The puss-in-the corner game would be meaningless. "Every single one of us would be a corner".
musicisopen.org is the reflection of "every body is a corner" place in internet. We make music together, we feed together and we do it ourselves. We will witness to the millions of variations of eight notes together. We are not trying to be famous, make money from music or create famous people and suck from their funny lives. We want to make music.
